Montgomery, AL Public Transportation System
Please pray that Montgomery, AL will have a decent, permanent public transportation. Its response to the famous 1955 Bus Boycott, that helped desegregate the city buses has been countered by decades of not having a decent bus or public transportation system, putting those with physical and visual impairments that bar them from driving at a social disadvantage in many aspects of their lives. There was a brief respite from this in the 1990s, but nothing since then. Birmingham Alabama has a good public transportation system. But it is long past time that Montgomery's leadership did likewise. The city that honors the deaf and blind Helen Keller as its heroine should long since have been more accommodating of those with similar disabilities.
