The Novena of
The Nine Thursdays
in Honor of St. Jude

I hope you are well and safe as we cope with the coronavirus pandemic. Don’t forget, all the Friars are praying for you to St. Jude for your intentions.

The days are moving quickly toward the beginning of our Nine Thursdays of Devotion Novena in honor of our dear Friend, St. Jude, which will be held at the National Shrines of St. Anthony & St. Jude. Please join us in prayer for nine Thursdays over the next few months leading up to the Great Feast of St. Jude on October 28th!

The Nine Thursdays of Devotion Novena is a powerful way to have St. Jude answer your prayer needs and those of your loved ones.

As you may remember, the origin of the Nine Thursdays Novena is lost in history, but not in the hearts of those faithful to St. Jude. This wonderful tradition is said to have begun because of the many miracles that took place following the death of St. Jude in the early times of the Church, not long after Jesus had risen from the dead.

Another tradition seems to be that after his death, Christians began the custom of preparing for the celebration of the feast of St. Jude by dedicating themselves in prayer on each of the nine Thursdays preceding the Miracle-Worker’s feast day. Imagine, all these centuries later we still continue this wonderful tradition!

Join us as we honor St. Jude, our great Miracle-Worker and Friend, over the next Nine Thursdays leading up to his Great Feast Day on October 28th!

Join the Friars in prayer and devotion to this wonderful saint who answers so many of our prayers with miracles and tender love. The Novena starts on Thursday, August 27, 2020, continues through October 22, 2020 and ends with Mass on the Great Feast Day of St. Jude on October 28th.

St. Jude is the one we can go to in times of trouble, frustration, loneliness, despair, a broken heart, and other difficult situations. During these nine Thursdays, you can join the Friars in prayer for all that you need for yourself and those you love who are having difficulties in life.

I look forward to hearing from you soon as our National Shrine Family prepares for this great devotion to St. Jude, the apostle of Miracles, and Intercessor to God for Help in Difficult Times.

May St. Jude help to grant all your Novena Prayer Requests.

Many Blessings,
